PRINCIPAL

for Waninitawingaang School in Kejick Bay

Kejick Bay is part of the Lac Seul First Nation and is a semi-isolated community. The community of Kejick Bay is an island situated 35km north of Sioux Lookout, Ontario. During the winter months the community is accessible by winter road. During the summer the island is accessible by boat. Parking is available at Archie's Landing where security is provided. Teacher accommodations available in Kejick Bay.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements,

	Bachelor of Education with five years of teaching experience in a First Nations community.
	Principal qualifications are preferred.
	The candidate must be a member and in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers and provide a Criminal Reference Check.
	Sensitivity to, knowledge and understanding of First Nation education issues are essential.
	The candidate must be familiar with the Ontario provincial curriculum and be able to adapt it to local needs.
	This position will require the successful candidate to be flexible and able to meet new challenges.

Duties:

	The Principal will provide curriculum and administrative leadership in a school team environment by setting high and achievable standards.
	The Principal will oversee the daily operations of the school and the supervision of the school staff and students.
	The Principal will also be required to work closely with the Education Officer and report monthly to the LSEA.
