Duties include, but will not be
limited to the following:

Strive to create a happy safe
atmosphere of caring, growth, learning, stimulation, creativity and respect in
all aspects of the program;
|
 |
Assist in planning and preparing a
positive learning environment, setting up interest and activity centres, and
preparing needed materials and supplies for each days events;
|
 |
Integrates Aboriginal culture into
all program activities;
|
 |
To be able to work as a team member
with all staff and parents/caregivers to meet the needs of the individual child;
|
 |
To provide for the welfare and safety
of all children, both on and off the Program site during program hours;
|
 |
To participate as a team member in
daily operation to promote positive examples of team building and co operation;
|
 |
To be familiar with and perform
duties in keeping with policies and procedures;
|
 |
Encourages open communication with
parents/caregivers concerning the needs, progress or concerns of their children;
|
 |
Assists the Early Childhood Educator
in any other appropriate ways;
|
 |
Knowledge of culture, values,
aspirations of Aboriginal people;
|
 |
Fluency in native language is a must;
|
 |
Degree in Early Childhood Education
or a Diploma in Early Childhood Education is preferred;
|
 |
Must have knowledge of both Day
Nurseries Act and Child & Family Services Act;
|
 |
Must possess strong interpersonal
skills, and demonstrated ability to work effectively as team member to display a
professional delivery of service to parents, staff and children of program;
|
 |
Must possess excellent communication
skills;
|
 |
Active in promoting healthy
lifestyles;
|
 |
Valid First Aid and CPR certificate;
|
 |
Must pass a medical exam, must be in
good health and able to do heavy lifting;
|
 |
Must pass a criminal record check;
|
 |
Work experience with special needs
children and asset;
|
