Overview: |
The Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority
has a mandate to coordinate the delivery of health services to the First
Nation Communities. The Casual Relief Workers will report to the
Client Services Manager for providing regular daily client services for the
transportation program. The transportation program is responsible for
providing ground transportation services within the Sioux Lookout area for
First Nation medical clients and escorts traveling from the northern
communities. The casual relief staff will be available for weekend
shift work and may be required to fill in on emergency shift work. The
incumbents for these positions must have excellent public relation skills,
communication skills and coordinating skills and must be physically able to
handle work related tasks. |

Qualifications: |
Experience working with First Nations people;
Completion of secondary education or equivalent; Valid Ontario Driver's
License with a minimum of three years previous driving experience and
accident free record for a minimum of three years; Must have no highway
traffic act convictions; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; A
defensive driving course would be a definite asset. A driver's
abstract will be required. |

Other Requirements: |
Sensitive and caring attitude in working with
First Nation medical clients and escorts; Willing to work flexible shift
schedule; Criminal reference check; Certificate of medical fitness. |

Duties: |
Providing transportation services for medical
clients and escorts; Provide general outreach and interpreter services for
clients; Perform daily routine maintenance checks on passenger vans; Monitor
and report number of deliveries with and without clients for statistical
reporting; Perform secondary accommodation duties prearranged by
non-insured health services. |
