Overview: |
The Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority
has a mandate to coordinate the delivery of health services to the First
Nation Communities. The Casual Relief Workers will report to the
Client Services Manager for providing regular daily client services for the
accommodation program. The accommodation program is responsible for
providing boarder care at the hostel and private accommodations to First
Nations medical clients and escorts traveling from the northern communities.
The casual relief staff will be available for weekend shift work and may be
required to fill in on emergency shift work. The incumbents for these
positions must have excellent public relation skills, communication skills
and coordinating skills and must be physically able to handle work related
tasks. |

Qualifications: |
Experience working with First Nations people;
Completion of secondary diploma or two years work experience in a
health care environment; An understanding of client services provided to the
First Nation people and communities; Must have demonstrated abilities in
office procedures and basic computer literacy; Excellent interpersonal and
communication skills. |

Other Requirements: |
Sensitive and caring attitude in working with
First Nation medical clients and escorts; Willing to work flexible shift
schedule; Criminal reference check; Certificate of medical fitness. |

Duties: |
Providing client with necessary information
regarding accommodations, transportation and translation services; Ensure
that all boarders are admitted and discharged from the hostel and proper up
to date records are kept of each admission and release; Provide boarders
with an orientation on their say at the hostel; Arrange for emergency
commercial accommodations where necessary; Act as liaison for patient and
hospital staff with regard to medical appointments; Maintain up to date
personal log shift entries to record activities for shift; Perform secondary
transportation duties such as arrange for pickup, referral to dispatch for
travel arrangements and general outreach services. |
